It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Christmas is in the air, and Trisha has officially passed both State Board Exams! It is such a relief to have these over with. I'll be able to have my license by the end of the year and hopefully have a job by the start of the new year!

So Jordan posted his top 5 best on the Pack family blog so I thought I'd post mine here.

#5 Vacations

Spending time with family and friends is some of the best memories I have in my life. Each vacation has its ups and downs but always are memorable. This year we had the pleasure of going to Arizona and California. In Arizona we had the chance to spend time with Jordan's friends and with at least part of his family. We also went to California with my family.

#4 Finding a place to live that we love.

Yeah we have had some very interesting living experiences this year. Technically we have lived in 4 different places. An apartment in Riverton, an apartment in West Valley, my parents, and now a Townhouse in Draper. And I am happy to say that I love where we are. The town house has been like a real home for once. It has been so nice to feel comfortable where we live.
#3 Thai Spice

Yes a restaurant is on my list. But honestly I crave it all the time, I practically dream of it. It is an amazing little Thai place in Fort Union. We have tried many other places and nothing even comes close to it.

#2 Passing State Boards and Finishing School

Finally done! I feel so accomplished. It is something that I have wanted to do for a really long time and it seems sorta surreal that it is actually done. I am so looking forward to finding a job in a salon and being able to do hair for a living. And it only took me 2000 hours! I met some really great friends there, some great girls who I am sure will be very successful in their lives.

#1 Having a wonderful Husband.

He makes me breakfast in bed, cheers me up when I am sad, plays silly games with me, encourages me to be the best person I can be, inspires me, and makes me feel loved. I don't know what I would do without Jordan. He is without a doubt the single most important person in my life and I love him more than words can say. We had our two year anniversary this year, it made me so excited to spend all the rest of my years with him.

Arizona 2009

We got back early last week from a wonderful trip to Arizona. Jordan had been wanting to go down there since we got married since it is where he grew up, but it was hard to find a workable time. Our friend Josh was getting married so we decided it was a perfect chance to finally make the journey down.

We spent a majority of our time in Gilbert which is where Jordan grew up. It was so fun to be able to get there to see old friends, and some old friends of Jordan's that I had never met before! We had a great time playing racquet ball, going miniature golfing, and going to Josh's wedding.

We also had the chance to spend some time with my Aunt Jill who moved down to Scottsdale in July. My cousin Sierra was participating in a small musical that a gentleman in their ward was putting on. The musical was "Oliver" and the man who ran it happened to be Don Bluth. Now if you don't know who Don Bluth is, google him. He is basically one of the last old time animators. He has done films such as "Anastasia", "The Land Before Time", "An American Tale" as well as many of the early Disney films. A very talented man, and some one Jordan has always looked up to.

It is really amazing because Don basically puts these musicals on for the kids who are LDS. Because alot of times in Arizona anywhere else you try to do a play or musical you have to rehearse on Sundays. So Don decided to make a musical that they would be able to do as well. He does the whole thing out of his home. He turned his living room into a stage, his kitchen into an Orchestra, and he does the whole thing non-profit. It was really fun to go and see the play since it was in such a inimate surrounding. About 40 fit into the 'audience'. While there are about 60 kids in the play. Don conducts the orchestra while watching the play and takes notes. The kids really did a fantastic job considering what a small stage they have to work with. Unfortunetly Sierra shares a part with another girl, and was not able to do her solo on the night we went but it was still very fun to watch her in the chorus.

Jordan also got the chance to spend a few minutes with Don Bluth. It was so fun because he was so nervous! So cute! He had an old magazine from Don that he was able to get signed. He was so down to earth about it and really a very humble man.
So we had a fantastic, much needed trip. Too bad we couldn't bring the nice weather back home with us!

The end of the road

Today was my last day in Cosmetology lab. With the 3 or 4 Fridays that I have left in my communications class, I will have earned my 2000 hours required for a hair stylist license. So I walked out of the school lab as a student for the last time. I met some really amazing people there who I will truly miss. They are all awesome and I wish them nothing but the best.

I need to finish up my Communications and Nail course, as well as sign up to take my State boards. I am hoping to take it the first week of November. After that I will be free and clear to find a job! Scary! But it is something that I really look forward to. Until then, I'll find a holiday job to keep myself busy.

I don't think it has quite sunk in yet that I won't be going to school on Monday. It's a really surreal feeling.

A Happy Birthday / Anniversary

On Wednesday Jordan turned the big 27! ( Well big to him he calls himself an old man) We had a great time being able to celebrate it. I picked him up after work and we went to Cafe Trang for dinner. Very fun. He also got to open up all his gifts with my family the night before. One of his gifts from me was a Snuggie because he always sleeps with his arms above his head and they get cold, one night I rolled over and touched his arm and I thought he was dead because of how cold he was! It was funny though because he looks like a wizard when he puts it on.

He also got a lot of other things which as always included some new video games of course. Hopefully he had a great birthday and he knows how much everyone around him loves him!
The next day was our 2 year anniversary! It is shocking how fas time flies! We were able to spend the evening at the Anniversary Inn. It is a really cool hotel that has a bunch of different theme rooms. We decided to stay in the Italian Gondola Suite since it has always been my dream to go to Italy. It was a really fun room and we had a awesome night.
Thanks for an incredible 2 years Jordy!

The epidemic hits

We are all going to die!!!!

Or not...But Jordan does have the Swine Flu. He started feeling sick on Tuesday so he decided to stay home. By the time I got home that evening he looked like he was on his death bed. He could barely walk his body hurt so bad and even touching his back through his shirt you could tell that he had a raging temperature. We really didn't think anything of it though. We figured it was just a flu bug that would work itself out.

He felt a little better on Wednesday so he did go to work, however by the time he got home he still didn't feel like he was recovering at all. Today he still felt really sick so he stayed home again. He called the office and found out that 2 co-workers had been out sick the last few days as well and 1 of them had tested positive for Swine Flu.

So we found a doctor that was able to squeeze him in and sure enough he tested positive for Influenza A. What an exciting day. It is hard to see him so sick though because he has always been so healthy. However the doctor assured us there really is no reason to overreact. He is going to be sick for a few more days, it will suck, but he will recover.

Now if I could just get him to stop snorting and oinking as he walks around the house...

A very satisfying weekend

Over the past few days I feel like Jordan and I have been able to overcome some issues that have been causing some stress in our lives.

First of all we finally found a place to live! Yes I am extremely excited since we have been looking around at many different places for weeks. After a rather taxing and tiring search, we decided to rent out this awesome townhouse in Draper. The size is perfect and I really can't wait to have our own place again. The best part is that they allow us to sign on at 3 months at a time so hopefully we will be able to move very easily when Jordan gets a fabulous offer!

And just as exciting for me, I took my exit exams today! Hooray! It is the beginning of the end for me! School is coming to a swift close and I couldn't be more excited about it. I am officially done with my hours on October 29th and after that I will just need to take my state boards and finish my friday classes and I am done forever!

I am also pretty sure that I have secured a job as holiday help at Nordstrom until I am officially ready to secure my license. That will be a great way to get some extra income rolling in and keep me busy until then.

It has been a good week!

In Another Life...

I want to be Sissel Kyrkjebø. She is a Norwegian singer that I have recently discovered. She actually has done a lot of work that people are blissfully unaware of. When she was just a teenager she was the voice of Ariel in Disney's "The Little Mermaid". More recently she did all the vocals for the movie "Titanic". James Horner who did all the music for the film actually wrote the entire soundtrack specificly for Sissel's voice. But when push comes to shove the film studio was convinced that she was not a big enough name to support the main theme song of "My Heart Will Go On" and gave the song to Celine Dion instead.

I've always really loved the song "The Prayer" recorded by Josh Groban and Charlotte Church. However while searching around youtube I found the same song preformed by Sissel and Josh Groban. Basically my two favorite vocalists wrapped up in one incredible preformance.

I love the lyrics and arrangement of this song. What is really fun is that The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is actually recording this song for their next cd. I can't wait to see how they arrange David Foster's amazing song.

Leaving Las Vegas

This weekend my mom, my sister-in-law Allison, and I went down to Las Vegas to attend my cousin Kylie's Wedding. It was so much fun to get away with the girls and the wedding turned out so gorgeous. Kids grow up so fast! It makes me feel so old to think that my little cousin is all grown up and married. She is attending hair school as well and will be done in January. We had a great time sharing in her special day.

We actually had so much fun that we decided another girls weekend down to Vegas is in order. One where we can go out and maybe see The Lion King. It's something that I really look forward too. I have an awesome family and I love spending time and goofing around with them.

Jordan spent his labor day weekend getting beat up by a mountain. Him and his cousin Wyatt went up to the Uintah's near Kamas and did a 12 mile hike. They camped up near Amythest Lake and hiked back down the next morning. By the time he got home his t-shirt literally had holes in it and had to be thrown out. Great exercise though.

Congratulations to Kylie and Jason!

The First of the Last

This week was officially the first week of my last semester in school. And I'll tell you I couldn't be more ready to get out of there. I feel like I have gained as much knowledge from that place as I possible can, and I am ready to learn out in the real world. As of the end of last semester I have 1610 hours. Which sets my graduation date at October 29. The only hard thing about that is, even though I will have my hours I will have to attend a Communications class every Friday until December in order to get my certificate. Oh well I guess. Beggars can't be choosers.

We have also made a decision about the whole house thing. For now we are going to put it on the back burner. We have decided that we need to keep as many options open as possible while we still can explore what the world has to offer us.

Life in Limbo

So since we last posted a lot has changed. We are currently living at my parents house while trying to figure out our lives.

Jordan has applied to Blizzard and we are waiting to here back from them to see if they would be interested in sending him an art test. This studio is the top of the game industry so it would be amazing for Jordan's career if he were to get in. Plus living in Irvine, California is not something that either one of us is quick to complain about.

Meanwhile the government keeps dangling the promise of $8000 to first time homebuyers if they purchase before Nov. 31. To say this is appealing is an understatement. We have gone out a couple times with our real estate agent and found some really great options. Plus this weekend we were happened to come across a great new community being built in Woods Cross. We absolutely loved the area and we would be able to build a brand new 1700 sq foot Townhouse for a great price. Trisha approves.

All that being said we are living in limbo. We don't want to jump the gun and risk having to turn down an amazing job opportunity, but at the same time we are on a time crunch with the stimulus package. So if any of you could convince Mr. Obama to extend that time line we would really appreciate it.

I know, I suck.

So yes this poor little blog has been severely neglected. Now Jordan has about 9 other blogs (or so it seems) so I feel that this blog is pretty much up to me. Therefore I am going to try much harder to update regularly. But as it is past midnight right now, I will leave the catch up post till tomorrow.

And the Emmy goes to...

Jordan Pack! Whoo!

That's right! The film that Jordan produced at BYU just won a student Emmy! So because he was the the producer on the project they are going to be flying him out to LA in march for the awards! Also if it won first place (they don't find out till that night) Jordan will get an actual Emmy trophy plus some money! We are keeping our fingers crossed! We are also hoping that it falls during my spring break so that we can get a ticket for me to go along with him.

Step 1: Emmy

Step 2: Get into Pixar

Step 3 Conquer the world! Bwahahaha

Bunny Madness

This is what it is like to own a rabbit. Now I just need to find a sound clip of one squeaking ...

All Settled In

So we are finally here! Yes we moved over this past week and I am proud to say that we are officially all unpacked. The nice thing about moving is being able to start over and be completely organized. I love it. I have taken some pictures of the apartment that I was going to post but sadly somewhere in the process of moving I have lost my USB plugin to upload pictures to my computer from my camera. Hopefully it will show up soon.

Thanks to Justin and Ana we now have a new food obsession. Pho. They took us out to a little restruant that served this dish earlier this week. I will admit we were not sure how we felt about it after we left, however we went again yesterday and now we are hooked. Thanks guys.

I am now back in school trying to get through what I call the 'semester of stress'. However it really has been great being back. I'm loving my new classes and am on my way to graduating hopefully the 2nd week of september or so.

Jordan is doing great at work, although had a slight scare as the company just had to layoff a bunch of people. However he is great and working hard to improve his demo reel.

Hopefully I'm not getting this cold that has been lingering about. Head isn't feeling so great tonight so I'm going to hop on off to bed. Goodnight!

Night-Time Jordan Strikes Again!

Being married is a rather interesting thing. Especially sleeping in the same bed as another person. Some people have very interesting sleeping habits. Take Jordan for example. Jordan talks in his sleep. Not all the time, but every once in awhile. He never remembers talking.

So last night I was not feeling too good. We went to bed at the same time but I was unable to fall asleep unlike Jordan who was out in 5 min flat. So an hour later I still can't sleep so I decided to get up and take some medicine. I do this and get a drink and decide to try to go back to bed. As I am quietly climbing between the sheets, Jordan turns to face me and says 'Meow.' Now I thought he was asleep so it kind of startled me.

'What?' I replied.

'Hi, Kittykat.' Was his answer.

Trying not to laugh I said, 'What are you doing?'

'Meow. Kittykat.' He responded.

At this point I was pretty sure that he was sleep talking so I asked him a few questions. Are you awake? Are you sure? Will you remember this in the morning? He answered yes to all of these. After the last question he immediatly started snoring.

Sure enough when I asked him about the conversation this morning he could not recall any of it. Night-Time Jordan took over.

Some of my other favorite Night-Time Jordan moments:

1.He rambles something that makes no since for a minute till I finally ask, "Are you awake?"
He replies with: "I'm 47% awake."

2.I went to bed a bit later then him. When I climbed into bed he started to rub my back. Wondering why he was still awake I asked him, "What are you doing?" He immediatly starts tapping his fingers rapidly all over my back like it is a key board. Thinking this was odd I rolled over and asked the question again. He shuddered and said, "Bugs."

I'm sure more adventures with Night-Time Jordan will be coming up soon.
