I can't believe it is already 2011 and we have been in California for 9 months. It is so weird to look back at where we were at this time last year and see how far we have come. So much has changed in our lives and I want to thank all our friends and family who have encouraged us through this time.

The holidays were different from any others we have experienced through our marriage. For the first time we were living in an area without any family, also an area that had 80 degree weather the first week of December. So we decided to change that. Due to extenuating circumstances, I decided to quit my job at Nordstrom. Because of this we were able to fly out and be with our families for Christmas. Jordan had to work a bit longer than I did so I flew out to Utah a few days before him and he drove up 5 days later. On the 23rd of December we were off to Michigan for our first official Christmas with the Pack clan! Who knew you could fit so many people around a kitchen table? It was so much fun to have everyone together and see how much the family is growing. And in March we will be able to see them again because Jordan's sister Shaunee is getting married!

We flew into Utah on New Year's Eve and spend exactly one day there before driving to California with my family to enjoy our Christmas present - A cruise to Baja Mexico. Little did we know the adventure that would find us as we set off for the 10 hour drive. We failed to realize as we left on January 2nd that it was the last weekend day of the holiday season and that everyone else was trying to get home too. Just outside of Las Vegas we were stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for 2 hours. During that time we moved about 20 miles. When we finally started moving again we were so excited! Finally a regular speed! WRONG! To get into the Orange County / L.A. area you have to pass by Barstow, Victorsville, and through what I think is called Lone Pine Canyon. So now we were about 2 hours away from our destination. So close we could feel it. Then we saw all the brake lights. Then we about lost our minds. Right outside Victorsville we again hit bumper to bumper traffic. Google maps was telling us that this traffic continued all the way through the canyon a mere 28 miles away. At this point we were all frustrated so I decided to go to sleep. I awoke about 1 1/2 hours later to find we had barely moved. Only about 5 miles. At this point we were all trying to figure out what to do. Tensions were high to say the least. About 17 hours into the drive and still 5 miles to get INTO the canyon we found out that the canyon had been officially closed down for the night because a snow fall and an accident.

We had pulled off the road and were trying to figure out what to do. By talking to other stranded drivers we found that all other roads required chains, which neither of our cars had. So we were stuck in Victorville. On top of that my brother's and 2 sisters-in-law had been calling every hotel in the area to try to find us a place to stay. They were all full. So after about an hour of standing around having no clue what to do, we made a decision. We had to get down the canyon, we were boarding the cruise ship the next day! We were going to have to get back onto the freeway and wait in line to get down the canyon, at that time they were doing police escorts 20 cars at a time. Luckily for us by the time we got near the canyon they officially opened it back up. Not that it went fast after that - roads were still very slick and a slow pace was needed. So 21 hours after we initially left Utah, we FINALLY at 4:20 am arrived at our destination.

So we made it. We got on the ship and everyone had a wonderful time. You forget sometimes how much you miss your family until you are back with them. I miss them and love them all so much. My brothers have grown in the exceptional young men. I hope they know how highly I think of them. I loved spending more time with Jordan's family. The more I time I spend with them, the more I love them. The are wonderful people. And I love my parents. More than I could ever say really. I know they are always there for me and support me no matter what.

Most of all, I love my husband. This year has only strengthened our relationship for the better. He has been my rock this year and I hope he know how much it means to me that I could always tell him how I was feeling, for good or for bad. This move has been so amazing for us and as hard as it is to be away from my family and friends, I always have him.

I hope everyone had an awesome holiday and I hope that going into the new year we can all strive to better our lives and appreciate the people we have around us. I love you all!

Happy Halloween!

Where has this year gone?!?! It seems like we have just been getting used to our new California lives and all the sudden 6 months has passed and the holiday season is starting.

I don't like Halloween. Never have really. I think it has to do with the fact that during that particular time of year people tend to want to go to haunted houses, watch scary movies and generally just freak each other out. I am a world class wuss. I HATE being scared. But despite all that we had a really good first Halloween in our new home.

Jordan decided he was not only going to be a boyscout leader, but he was going to be a CREEPY boyscout leader. Complete with booty shorts and a moustache.
I decided to go a bit simpler, a butterfly.Toady much to his distaste was a pumpkin. Actually he didn't mind the pumpkin part, it was the headband / stem that he hated. But he was so cute!Jordan also decided to show off his mad pumpkin carving skills and enter a carving contest that his office building was hosting. Another thing I hate...carving pumpkins. YUCK! But he slaved away at that thing for hours and I must say I was impressed with the results. (No he didn't win)
However I did have one major disappointment this Halloween. NO trick or treaters! Not a one! So sad! We bought candy and everything and I was really wanting to see the cute little kids in their costumes but apparently our apartment is not good pickings. Maybe by next year we will have a better spot to give out candy.

I hope everyone else had a wonderful holiday! Crazy how time flies! It has been a crazy year and we have accomplished so much together.

To celebrate we went to Disneyland / California Adventure. We discovered the benefit of living so close to the happiest place on earth is purchasing So. Cal resident season passes. That way we can go pretty much whenever we want to. I like the idea because a whole day at Disneyland is draining (we were so tired on Saturday!) so if we want to we can go for just a few hours after work and not feel like we have to stay a long time.

Jordan's birthday was the day before our anniversary (28!) so we have had quite the fun filled weekend. I feel incredibly lucky to be married to a guy who is also my best friend. It still amazes me how much fun we have together just goofing off and being silly. I couldn't ask for a better husband! Looking forward to another exciting year together!

Arizona

This past weekend we were able to get down to Arizona to visit some friends and family. Last year we went early November, I figure there shouldn't be much difference between early November and early October right? WRONG. It was around 108 degrees. Not fun.

Other than the heat, we had a great time. I always say that I am going to take lots of pictures, then I never do. Bad on me. But we hung out with friends, ate good food, and generally had an awesome time. We stayed with my Aunt Jill for 2 nights and it was so good to see her and her family! It was wonderful to talk to her since she had done a major move away from the family about a year before us. She is a wonderful person and I hope she knows how much talking to her meant to me.

Next stop, Las Vegas Nevada for Thanksgiving!

Phlebotomy 1

So today I had my first treatment for my Haemochromotosis. Phlebotomy number one complete! Anyone who knows me well knows that I am really no good with needles or blood draws, so I was really nervous about it. A bag a blood is a lot!

Luckily I have an incredible husband who went along with me. During the whole thing he kept asking me how I was doing and tried to make me smile. I did pretty good till the end when they took the little rubber band that makes your veins pop out off my arm then the spinning started. As per usual I feel sick and they have to lay me down and put my legs in the air so that I don't pass out. I am so awesome.

But I do have to say, it could always be worse. We were in the same room as 3 elderly people who were all receiving chemotherapy. I can't even imagine going through something like that. It makes me very grateful that my thing is so minor in the scheme of things.

I have a follow up exam in October where they will do some more blood panels and see where my levels are at. Hopefully since my levels were so low to begin with, they should be regulated and I won't have to do this again for quite some time. Yay!

Diagnosed

Yesterday I was diagnosed with a blood disorder called Haemochromatosis. It is a genetic disorder that I have known about most of my life since my dad, 2 uncles, and grandpa all have it. Originally we were told that non of us kids would have it since you usually need 2 genes. One from you dad and one from your mom. When my dad was diagnosed my mom was tested and she does not carry the gene, so I only received one from my dad.

Well last month when running some blood panels with my doctor, my iron came back high. So she sent me to a blood specialist where he ran MORE blood panels along with a genetic test for haemochromatosis and it came back positive. Yay me! I defy odds!

Now it is a very easy disorder to handle, especially if caught early enough. It is basically when your body absorbs to much iron in your blood and does not filter it out correctly. The excess iron and eventually build up in your organs, causing some major problems. In order to correct the iron levels you have to do phlebotomy's. So basically they have you do some blood draws until the excess iron is out of the blood. Then you just have to go back every so often to maintain your levels.

My levels were fairly low. In a normal person the blood saturation percentage is between 15 - 50 %. Mine was 65%. They also have a ferritin serum levels of no more than 50 and mine was at 56. When my dad was diagnosed, his levels were over 100. So for now I'll have to go in and do 1 phlebotomy, then go in a month later to re-test my levels and take it from there!

In a way I am very lucky. We caught it extremely early so the chance of me having any liver damage (the first place iron stores up) is small. Plus we can get my levels under control hopefully with not much treatment. I am hoping as they get older, my little brothers will also get tested so that if by chance they defy odds as well, they can be as lucky as me.

And if I haven't said it before - Thank you Dad for all the wonderful genes!!! Ha ha just kidding, I love you!

I am lazy

Sooo yeah. Everytime I think about updating the blog, I suddenly find something else to do.

The end of summer! We have had a very interesting summer. We have settled into our lives in California wonderfully. Jordan is doing wonderful in his job and looks forward to playing baseball with his friends at work every week. In July I had the chance to go to Utah for my Grandma and Grandpa Gorringe's 50th wedding anniversary! It was such a special day and I am so happy I was able to be there with them.
We briefly started looking for a condo only to realize about a month later that in order to get somewhere that we are completely happy we need to have a 20% down payment. So for now we are on hold on the house search, but we look forward in the future to finding a place of our own.

A couple of weekends ago we took Toady to the dog beach in Huntington Beach. It was an experience to say the least. So many dogs! We had to keep him on the leash the whole time because he gets so excited around other dogs. It was pretty hard to control him with all the dogs there, it was good to experience but I don't think we will be going back any time soon. Especially after one dog (who had a muzzle on - so I knew he was trouble) was let off his leash and tried to attack Toady. He was literally 5x Toady's size and before we knew it he had 5 dogs on top of him. I was able to wrestle him out of the pile, but his lip did get cut. That didn't stop him though, he was still ready to play!

He was still happy in the car though! Now we are dealing with a flea epidemic, that hopefully we can get under control soon. Because everytime we try to give him a flea bath the flea's take out their frustration on me! I bought him some medication today so hopefully it will get better soon.

This past week my family came into town to visit us! It was my whole family (sadly minus Zac and Allison) Jill's Family, and my Grandma and Grandpa. It was so nice to see everyone and we had such an awesome week.

We went to Six Flags and I was so proud that I was able to drag Jordan onto all the rides! Yes some were very reluctantly but he did it! We also spent the day at a beach on Balboa Island called the Wedge. Very big and crazy waves but we had a blast! We were all so sun burned after but lucky for me it has turned into a nice tan.

Being able to see my family like that makes me feel like I haven't lost anything by moving to California. I am still able to see them and that brings great comfort to me. I will be going to Utah in July for a quick weekend and it looks like Zac and Allison will be coming down to visit us in September. It was really interesting to see the inspiration behind the movie. It was also interesting because the part of 'Roxie' was played by Michelle Williams, who was a member of the singing group Destinys Child. Very fun. There were aspects that I was a bit disappointed in, particularly the part of Matron 'Mama' Morton. Maybe Queen Latifah spoiled it for me because I thought she was SO good in the movie. But it was still really fun to see. They were sisters, in their early 70's, born 13 months apart. The eldest sister was getting a facial done by someone else in the department so while she was doing that I got the chance to talk to her younger sister. I had heard them mention the hospital earlier so I asked if everything was okay. The younger sister (I really wish I had gotten their names) told me that the older sister had been on dialysis for 7 years awaiting a new kidney from the organ transplant list. It was because of a hereditary kidney disorder that 3 of the 4 children in the family had been diagnosed with including both of the sisters.

The younger sister told me that the disease does not usually manifest itself till much later in life, but the older sister had had breast cancer in 1980. Because of the radiation and chemo it had greatly increased the process of the disease. The sister I was talking to (the younger one) also was on the transplant list for a new kidney, although she had not yet had to go on dialysis. However one of the early effects of the disease can be a stroke. Which she had had 2 years ago.

So here are these 2 women. One had breast cancer, was on dialysis, and was awaiting a new kidney. The other had a stroke and was also awaiting a new kidney. Yet these women seemed so HAPPY. They were out shopping, getting facials and their makeup done, and obviously having a great time. I told the younger sister how much I admired their attitude. She told me that she had discovered many years ago that there was no use in being bitter. It does nothing to change the situation and in many circumstances it can only cause harmful effects. She quoted the beginning of a bible verse to me. Philippians 4: 11b ....I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.

I wish these women knew how much they affected me that day. It made me so grateful for everything that I have including and wonderful husband and family. Sometimes people can touch your lives with just the simplest conversation. But I will always remember these two wonderful sisters, trying on pink lipstick and giggling about getting kisses.

Tomorrow will be 1 week since we have moved to California. We are completely unpacked and I have several leads for a job. It has for sure been an exhausting week though. There was a misunderstanding with the movers so we didn't end up getting our stuff until Tuesday. Which meant we slept on the floor for 2 days before breaking down and buying and air mattress the third night.

Also a lovely little surprise on Easter Sunday...an earthquake!

An 7.2 earthquake struck Baja Mexico in the afternoon and traveled far enough to be felt in Southern California. We were just sitting around trying to decide what to do for dinner when our entire apartment started shaking. We ran outside (which we have since learned was a bad idea) and waited till it was over. In the grand scheme of things we felt relatively little. There was no damage or anything like that, just scared us!

We are looking forward to our first free weekend in California and hopefully will have the chance to explore our new home and it's surroundings.

We had our 'Goodbye Utah' party last night. Toady is a 2 year old Pomeranian / Yorkie mix dog who was looking for a new home. We adopted him and are having so much fun getting to know him! He is already house and crate trained so that has been a huge help. He is such a good little dog. He loves to play fetch and lay in the sun. We took him for a long walk today and he loved being out in the open air. The previous owners shaved off his hair for the spring but once it grows out he will be a ball of fluff! He really hasn't struggled at all with adjusting to a new family. He is pretty attached to me and Jordan but he will lay with anyone who will hold him.

California here we come!

At last! 2 years later Jordan and I are finally off to live in the land of sunshine and beaches! Jordan has been offered a job at a studio in Aliso Viejo California called Carbine. He will be working on an unannounced MMO that he is extremely excited about. We feel so lucky that this chance has presented itself to us.

We have so much to do before we leave. We are going to be flying to Orange County on Tuesday and spend a few days there doing the great apartment hunt. Can you say expensive?!?! But we are still very excited. The studio is located around 2 miles from the beach and there are a ton of apartments in that area. The thought of being able to go to the beach whenever we feel like is so exciting! We need to report for duty on April 5, one month from today. So we are planning on leaving early early on the 3rd. We of course have to be here on the 2nd because we would never miss Austin and Ray's wedding! We are so looking forward to being able to spend some time with the Pack clan before we take off.

Sadly for me, I will have to take California State Boards. From what I've heard they are also a lot stricter on their requirements. Boo. So hopefully I will be able to get over there and get my license as soon as possible.

We would love to have a casual party / get together before we leave so we can have one last chance to see everyone. Please let us know if you'd be interested in coming!

With the holidays and everything I have been slacking on the posts.

Happy New Year anyways! The holiday were wonderful. The Packs all came to Utah this year for a fun filled week. It was great to have everyone together again especially with the newest addition, Austin's fiancee Ray! Hopefully we will get the chance to know her much better.

We also got the chance to go skiing with the whole Gorringe Family! It was a great day and so fun to have all of us together beating our bodies to a pulp. I hadn't been skiing in about 3 years so my legs felt it in a major way. We had a great time anyways.

I have now started work as well. I am working at Salon Valentina in Sugarhouse. It was my first choice salon so it felt great to be fortunate enough to get the job that I wanted. I've been there about 3 weeks now. It is definitely a new challenge. Being straight out of school I do not have a clientel, and I work on commision. Thus there are actually times (take last Friday night) that I work for free! How fun! I am lucky though because the Salon is actually really good about trying to give you as many walk ins as possible. So everyone should walk on in! Haha.

So if anyone is needing a haircut or color let me know. Also any referals are greatly appreciated! ;)

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Christmas is in the air, and Trisha has officially passed both State Board Exams! It is such a relief to have these over with. I'll be able to have my license by the end of the year and hopefully have a job by the start of the new year!

So Jordan posted his top 5 best on the Pack family blog so I thought I'd post mine here.

#5 Vacations

Spending time with family and friends is some of the best memories I have in my life. Each vacation has its ups and downs but always are memorable. This year we had the pleasure of going to Arizona and California. In Arizona we had the chance to spend time with Jordan's friends and with at least part of his family. We also went to California with my family.

#4 Finding a place to live that we love.

Yeah we have had some very interesting living experiences this year. Technically we have lived in 4 different places. An apartment in Riverton, an apartment in West Valley, my parents, and now a Townhouse in Draper. And I am happy to say that I love where we are. The town house has been like a real home for once. It has been so nice to feel comfortable where we live.
#3 Thai Spice

Yes a restaurant is on my list. But honestly I crave it all the time, I practically dream of it. It is an amazing little Thai place in Fort Union. We have tried many other places and nothing even comes close to it.

#2 Passing State Boards and Finishing School

Finally done! I am so looking forward to finding a job in a salon and being able to do hair for a living. And it only took me 2000 hours! I met some really great friends there, some great girls who I am sure will be very successful in their lives.

#1 Having a wonderful Husband.

He makes me breakfast in bed, cheers me up when I am sad, plays silly games with me, encourages me to be the best person I can be, inspires me, and makes me feel loved. I don't know what I would do without Jordan. He is without a doubt the single most important person in my life and I love him more than words can say. Jordan had been wanting to go down there since we got married since it is where he grew up, but it was hard to find a workable time. Our friend Josh was getting married so we decided it was a perfect chance to finally make the journey down.

We spent a majority of our time in Gilbert which is where Jordan grew up. It was so fun to be able to get there to see old friends, and some old friends of Jordan's that I had never met before! We had a great time playing racquet ball, going miniature golfing, and going to Josh's wedding.

We also had the chance to spend some time with my Aunt Jill who moved down to Scottsdale in July. My cousin Sierra was participating in a small musical that a gentleman in their ward was putting on. The musical was "Oliver" and the man who ran it happened to be Don Bluth. Now if you don't know who Don Bluth is, google him. He is basically one of the last old time animators. He has done films such as "Anastasia", "The Land Before Time", "An American Tale" as well as many of the early Disney films. A very talented man, and some one Jordan has always looked up to.

It is really amazing because Don basically puts these musicals on for the kids who are LDS. Because alot of times in Arizona anywhere else you try to do a play or musical you have to rehearse on Sundays. So Don decided to make a musical that they would be able to do as well. He does the whole thing out of his home. He turned his living room into a stage, his kitchen into an Orchestra, and he does the whole thing non-profit. It was really fun to go and see the play since it was in such a inimate surrounding. About 40 fit into the 'audience'. While there are about 60 kids in the play. Don conducts the orchestra while watching the play and takes notes. The kids really did a fantastic job considering what a small stage they have to work with. Unfortunetly Sierra shares a part with another girl, and was not able to do her solo on the night we went but it was still very fun to watch her in the chorus.

Jordan also got the chance to spend a few minutes with Don Bluth. It was so fun because he was so nervous! So cute! He had an old magazine from Don that he was able to get signed. He was so down to earth about it and really a very humble man.
So we had a fantastic, much needed trip. With the 3 or 4 Fridays that I have left in my communications class, I will have earned my 2000 hours required for a hair stylist license. So I walked out of the school lab as a student for the last time. I met some really amazing people there who I will truly miss. They are all awesome and I wish them nothing but the best.

I need to finish up my Communications and Nail course, as well as sign up to take my State boards. I am hoping to take it the first week of November. After that I will be free and clear to find a job! Scary! But it is something that I really look forward to. Until then, I'll find a holiday job to keep myself busy.

I don't think it has quite sunk in yet that I won't be going to school on Monday. ( Well big to him he calls himself an old man) We had a great time being able to celebrate it. I picked him up after work and we went to Cafe Trang for dinner. Very fun. He also got to open up all his gifts with my family the night before. One of his gifts from me was a Snuggie because he always sleeps with his arms above his head and they get cold, one night I rolled over and touched his arm and I thought he was dead because of how cold he was! It was funny though because he looks like a wizard when he puts it on.

He also got a lot of other things which as always included some new video games of course. It is shocking how fas time flies! We were able to spend the evening at the Anniversary Inn. It is a really cool hotel that has a bunch of different theme rooms. We decided to stay in the Italian Gondola Suite since it has always been my dream to go to Italy. It was a really fun room and we had a awesome night.
Thanks for an incredible 2 years Jordy!

The epidemic hits

We are all going to die!!!!

Or not...But Jordan does have the Swine Flu. He started feeling sick on Tuesday so he decided to stay home. By the time I got home that evening he looked like he was on his death bed. He could barely walk his body hurt so bad and even touching his back through his shirt you could tell that he had a raging temperature. We really didn't think anything of it though. We figured it was just a flu bug that would work itself out.

He felt a little better on Wednesday so he did go to work, however by the time he got home he still didn't feel like he was recovering at all. Today he still felt really sick so he stayed home again. He called the office and found out that 2 co-workers had been out sick the last few days as well and 1 of them had tested positive for Swine Flu.

So we found a doctor that was able to squeeze him in and sure enough he tested positive for Influenza A. What an exciting day. It is hard to see him so sick though because he has always been so healthy. However the doctor assured us there really is no reason to overreact. He is going to be sick for a few more days, it will suck, but he will recover.

Now if I could just get him to stop snorting and oinking as he walks around the house...

A very satisfying weekend

Over the past few days I feel like Jordan and I have been able to overcome some issues that have been causing some stress in our lives.

First of all we finally found a place to live! Yes I am extremely excited since we have been looking around at many different places for weeks. After a rather taxing and tiring search, we decided to rent out this awesome townhouse in Draper. The size is perfect and I really can't wait to have our own place again. The best part is that they allow us to sign on at 3 months at a time so hopefully we will be able to move very easily when Jordan gets a fabulous offer!

And just as exciting for me, I took my exit exams today! Hooray! It is the beginning of the end for me! School is coming to a swift close and I couldn't be more excited about it. I am officially done with my hours on October 29th and after that I will just need to take my state boards and finish my friday classes and I am done forever!

I am also pretty sure that I have secured a job as holiday help at Nordstrom until I am officially ready to secure my license. That will be a great way to get some extra income rolling in and keep me busy until then.

It has been a good week!

In Another Life...

I want to be Sissel Kyrkjebø. She is a Norwegian singer that I have recently discovered. She actually has done a lot of work that people are blissfully unaware of. When she was just a teenager she was the voice of Ariel in Disney's "The Little Mermaid". More recently she did all the vocals for the movie "Titanic". James Horner who did all the music for the film actually wrote the entire soundtrack specificly for Sissel's voice. But when push comes to shove the film studio was convinced that she was not a big enough name to support the main theme song of "My Heart Will Go On" and gave the song to Celine Dion instead.

I've always really loved the song "The Prayer" recorded by Josh Groban and Charlotte Church. However while searching around youtube I found the same song preformed by Sissel and Josh Groban. Basically my two favorite vocalists wrapped up in one incredible preformance.

I love the lyrics and arrangement of this song. What is really fun is that The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is actually recording this song for their next cd. It was so much fun to get away with the girls and the wedding turned out so gorgeous. Kids grow up so fast! It makes me feel so old to think that my little cousin is all grown up and married. She is attending hair school as well and will be done in January. We had a great time sharing in her special day.

We actually had so much fun that we decided another girls weekend down to Vegas is in order. One where we can go out and maybe see The Lion King. It's something that I really look forward too. I have an awesome family and I love spending time and goofing around with them.

Jordan spent his labor day weekend getting beat up by a mountain. Him and his cousin Wyatt went up to the Uintah's near Kamas and did a 12 mile hike. They camped up near Amythest Lake and hiked back down the next morning. By the time he got home his t-shirt literally had holes in it and had to be thrown out. Great exercise though.

Congratulations to Kylie and Jason!

The First of the Last

This week was officially the first week of my last semester in school. And I'll tell you I couldn't be more ready to get out of there. I feel like I have gained as much knowledge from that place as I possible can, and I am ready to learn out in the real world. As of the end of last semester I have 1610 hours. Which sets my graduation date at October 29. The only hard thing about that is, even though I will have my hours I will have to attend a Communications class every Friday until December in order to get my certificate. Oh well I guess. Beggars can't be choosers.

We have also made a decision about the whole house thing. For now we are going to put it on the back burner. We have decided that we need to keep as many options open as possible while we still can explore what the world has to offer us.

Life in Limbo

So since we last posted a lot has changed. We are currently living at my parents house while trying to figure out our lives.

Jordan has applied to Blizzard and we are waiting to here back from them to see if they would be interested in sending him an art test. This studio is the top of the game industry so it would be amazing for Jordan's career if he were to get in. Plus living in Irvine, California is not something that either one of us is quick to complain about.

Meanwhile the government keeps dangling the promise of $8000 to first time homebuyers if they purchase before Nov. 31. To say this is appealing is an understatement. We have gone out a couple times with our real estate agent and found some really great options. Plus this weekend we were happened to come across a great new community being built in Woods Cross. We absolutely loved the area and we would be able to build a brand new 1700 sq foot Townhouse for a great price. Trisha approves.

All that being said we are living in limbo. We don't want to jump the gun and risk having to turn down an amazing job opportunity, but at the same time we are on a time crunch with the stimulus package. So if any of you could convince Mr. Obama to extend that time line we would really appreciate it.

I know, I suck.

So yes this poor little blog has been severely neglected. Yes we moved over this past week and I am proud to say that we are officially all unpacked. The nice thing about moving is being able to start over and be completely organized. I love it. I have taken some pictures of the apartment that I was going to post but sadly somewhere in the process of moving I have lost my USB plugin to upload pictures to my computer from my camera. Hopefully it will show up soon.

Thanks to Justin and Ana we now have a new food obsession. Pho. They took us out to a little restruant that served this dish earlier this week. I will admit we were not sure how we felt about it after we left, however we went again yesterday and now we are hooked. Thanks guys.

I am now back in school trying to get through what I call the 'semester of stress'. However it really has been great being back. I'm loving my new classes and am on my way to graduating hopefully the 2nd week of september or so.

Jordan is doing great at work, although had a slight scare as the company just had to layoff a bunch of people. However he is great and working hard to improve his demo reel.

Hopefully I'm not getting this cold that has been lingering about. Head isn't feeling so great tonight so I'm going to hop on off to bed. Especially sleeping in the same bed as another person. Some people have very interesting sleeping habits. Take Jordan for example. Jordan talks in his sleep. Not all the time, but every once in awhile. He never remembers talking.

So last night I was not feeling too good. We went to bed at the same time but I was unable to fall asleep unlike Jordan who was out in 5 min flat. So an hour later I still can't sleep so I decided to get up and take some medicine. I do this and get a drink and decide to try to go back to bed. As I am quietly climbing between the sheets, Jordan turns to face me and says 'Meow.' Now I thought he was asleep so it kind of startled me.

'What?' I replied.

'Hi, Kittykat.' Was his answer.

Trying not to laugh I said, 'What are you doing?'

'Meow. Kittykat.' He responded.

At this point I was pretty sure that he was sleep talking so I asked him a few questions. Are you awake? Are you sure? Will you remember this in the morning? He answered yes to all of these. After the last question he immediatly started snoring.

Sure enough when I asked him about the conversation this morning he could not recall any of it. Night-Time Jordan took over.

Some of my other favorite Night-Time Jordan moments:

1.He rambles something that makes no since for a minute till I finally ask, "Are you awake?"
He replies with: "I'm 47% awake."

2.I went to bed a bit later then him. When I climbed into bed he started to rub my back. Wondering why he was still awake I asked him, "What are you doing?" He immediatly starts tapping his fingers rapidly all over my back like it is a key board. Thinking this was odd I rolled over and asked the question again. He shuddered and said, "Bugs."

I'm sure more adventures with Night-Time Jordan will be coming up soon.

-Trisha

Christmas beard ends a few week earlier.

Behold; ye mighty beard fierce. It was going to be a Christmas surprise to my family, however it was shaved off 3 week early due to a bet that Trish and I had. If I was wrong, my time would be shortened 3 weeks. We were both so sure that we were right, that we had to drive to the nearest Blockbuster to check (as we were out shopping).

Stupid Kevin Kline ... Merry Christmas! Yeah it's been a long time since we posted but hey I'm trying here. Wish we could get some snow around here so that it could actually feel like the holidays. Oh well. Here is hoping for a white Christmas.

I am done for the semester now, and doing a little bit of seasonal help at Macy's. Which Jordan can tell you I hate. I'm back in the shoe department, but this time I am only a ringer. I will admit that it is nice because I really don't have to deal with the crazy customers but it sucks because I don't make commision. So basically I just stand behind the register for 8 hours a day while making a crappy wage. Yay for retail.

Last night we went to the Christmas Concert for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I of course go every year since my mom gets tickets for all her family. I will say however that this was probably one of the best concerts I've been too. The guest singer this year was a man by the name of Brian Stokes Mitchell. He is a broadway performer who has stared in many musicals and won many Tony Awards. He is incredible. If anyone is interested in a very talented singer I highly recommend that you check him out at http://www.brianstokes.com Some of you might have actually heard him sing before. If you have ever seen 'The Prince of Egypt' then you have! He was the singing voice for the character Jetro. The song is 'Through Heaven's Eyes'

Through Heavens Eyes - Various Artists

My mom has a little crush on him. We looked around had trying to decided what we wanted to be. After careful consideration Jordan selected a mask. But not only a mask, he picked out some accessories to go with it. As we got dressed on all Hallow's Eve and headed out to the party, many people asked him "What are you?". His answer? "WTF." So here he is on Halloween, WTF Man.

Yeah, I don't know either. We had a great time exploring, climbing, swimming, and being a little bit lazy. On the 2nd day we planned on going to Zions National Park. It is about an hour away from St. George and we figured we would have a good time. However when we arrived we realized there was a park entry fee of $25. Now that might not sound too bad except for the fact that on that particular day there were fires burning around that area. The smoke was pretty thick so visibility was very poor and it hurt our eyes to even get out of the car. Taking all that into consideration we decided not to spend the money. So no Zions for us. However Jordan did find something to his liking while we were there.

Yes, Jordan has a bear hat. He was quite pleased with himself. We found a really neat park not far from our hotel. It is called Pioneer Park and it is basically just a ton of red rock formations that you can climb around on and explore.
